Counseling

We are currently accepting applications for our counseling program for those over the age of 14. There are a few steps to this process and to better serve you and our community, we have laid them out here:

  1. Fill out and submit our online Counseling Application – Link will open in New Tab. Make sure to double check that your contact information is correct.
  2. A member of our staff will contact you in 5 to 10 business days to verify your eligibility and to go over your information.
  3. Once your application is accepted, you will receive an email with a link to complete the intake documentation.
  4. After ALL documents have been completed, the counseling staff is notified and you will then be contacted to schedule your first appointment. Please keep in mind that if all documents are not completed, our system will not send notification for a counselor to schedule your first appointment. If you have a question about any of the documents, please call our office during normal business hours and speak with a member of our staff.

See our list of Support Groups and Art Studio times available to you if needed under Events as well as other counseling resources under Resources.

Counseling at RCA

IMG_5918Asking for help can be difficult, but everyone needs help sometimes. Counseling can be of benefit if you are depressed or anxious; if you are experiencing grief, trauma, or abuse; or if you are simply struggling with everyday life. Counseling can be a difficult process but also a deeply rewarding one. River City Advocacy’s counseling program serves New Braunfels, Comal County, and the surrounding areas. Please contact us if you are interested in setting up an appointment with a counselor.

We offer individual, couples, and family counseling by appointment.

Our counseling services are available to anyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

All of our counselors and therapists are licensed by their respective state board of examiners and guided by a professional code of ethics for their profession. Some may be working towards their full license as interns. All client records are kept individually by our counselors. To request that your information be shared with someone besides your counselor, you must contact your counselor to obtain a form allowing the disclosure of that specific information. River City Advocacy abides by all federal and state law regarding privacy of your protected health information and cannot release your information to anyone without your consent except under limited circumstances. You may request at any time a copy of these or any other policies listed on the counseling application. Any request for records must be submitted to your therapist directly.

Payment

Fees for counseling are set based on income and family size, ensuring that working families and others in need in our community have the opportunity to afford the care they need. Please contact us with questions at 830-643-0200.

All payment is due at time of service.
