Adam walked through the doors of RCA in 2014 and has been committed to its vision ever since. Through his work as a volunteer, Certified Peer Specialist, and Administrative Assistant, Adam has become familiar with all aspects of River City Advocacy’s operation. He is grateful to continue serving RCA as Executive Director.

Susan Tjernagel has called New Braunfels home for over 30 years. Originally from Dallas, her path was laid out for her at age 16 when she began volunteering at Angels, Inc. working with mentally and emotionally disabled children. A proud graduate of the University of Texas with a degree in Elementary Education, Susan has spent the last 28 years raising a family, teaching 1st graders, and mentoring women.
She enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her 3 adult children and their families, and giving back to the community she loves through volunteering.
Hannah Nelson, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hannah Nelson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with RCA for almost 5 years. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX where she is from. She attained her Masters in Counseling in 2013 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Hannah works with adolescents, individuals, couples, and families.
